Sports injuries

Dr. Ta grew up in Davis, CA and graduated from University of California at Davis with a B.S. degree in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior.

During one of his rock-climbing outings, Dr. Ta sustained an avulsion fracture of his ankle from a fall. Utilizing crutches and being in a fracture boot for several months made him appreciate the simple ability to walk pain-free.  After a full recovery and returning to the doing all the outdoors activities that he loves, Dr. Ta decided to pursue a career where he can help other regain the ability to walk pain-free…a gift which he now greatly appreciates. He attended the California College of Podiatric Medicine at Samuel Merritt University in Oakland, CA where he earned his Doctorate of Podiatric Medicine degree. Dr. Ta went on to complete a three-year residency at Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance, OH where he received great surgical training.

Dr. Ta worked at Central Texas Foot Specialist in Georgetown, Tx until he joined Southwest Austin Foot and Ankle Clinic in 2022. In his free time, he can be found climbing at the Greenbelt and Reimer’s Ranch, mountain biking the local trails, or kayak fishing the surrounding rivers and lakes.
